Directions for Perfect Parmesan Crusted Chicken
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder on both sides. This simple seasoning blend infuses the chicken with flavor from the inside out. The paprika gives a subtle smokiness, while the garlic powder adds depth to the overall flavor profile.
Next, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, sear the chicken breasts for about 5-6 minutes per side, until they are golden brown and cooked through. The searing process locks in the juices and ensures the chicken stays tender and flavorful. After the chicken is cooked, remove it from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
Step 2: Make the Parmesan Crust Topping
Now it’s time to prepare the star of the dish—the Parmesan crust topping. In a small bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella, shredded provolone, Caesar dressing, and melted butter. Mix everything together until the mixture becomes a crumbly topping that holds together.
The combination of cheeses—Parmesan, mozzarella, and provolone—creates a rich and gooey texture, while the panko breadcrumbs add that all-important crispy element. The Caesar dressing adds an extra layer of creaminess and flavor that ties everything together beautifully.
Step 3: Assemble and Broil
Preheat your oven’s broiler to high heat. While it’s heating, place the seared chicken breasts on a baking sheet. Spoon a generous layer of the Parmesan crust topping over each chicken breast, pressing it gently to ensure it adheres well to the surface. Be sure to use enough of the mixture to cover the entire chicken breast for that golden, cheesy crust.
Step 4: Serve
Once the Parmesan crust is golden and bubbly, remove the chicken from the oven. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and extra freshness. Serve the chicken hot with your favorite sides.
